Due to current conditions we are moving to Advisory Fire status in the County.
As always we will continue to monitor moisture levels and fire risk throughout the County and may update the status as and when needed. Fire permits will be issued for Class 1 (10x10x5 and under) and Class 2 (10x10x5 and over) fires but may be cancelled at any time with little to no notice. Although this is not a Fire Ban or Restriction, the County will ask citizens to use extra caution and be extra vigilant when burning while the Advisory is in effect. Soaking the area adjacent to the open fire pits with water is recommended. Citizens are also reminded that obtaining a fire permit is always mandatory and permits are at no cost. The Burn Permits can be applied for on the County website. If conditions change, the County may impose a Fire Ban or Restriction at any time. If a Fire Ban or Restriction is imposed, you must immediately fully extinguish your fire, and all existing permits will become void and no new permits will be issued.
This Fire Advisory allows for:
- Fires that require a permit, Class1 and Class 2. (Class1 is for small burns, less than 10 x 10 X 5, Class 2 is for large burns, any area that is 10’ X 10’ X 5’ or larger).
