    Foothills County and the Town of Okotoks are giving away a private tour of Champion Park, the restored train & railway station. Due to COVID-19, an annual in-person event could not be held this year. In efforts to help residents explore their community, a virtual tour was also created of Champion park, with one lucky winner receiving a private tour! For more information on the virtual tour, and how to enter click here.

    No Fire Restriction Status

    'No Fire Restriction Status' is now in place effective October 27, 2020. This replaces the previous Fire Advisory. All open fires are allowed by obtaining a burning permit found on the Foothills County Website. Citizens are also reminded that obtaining a fire permit is mandatory at all times. For more information, click here.

Scott Seaman Sports Rink Moves to Phase II of Re-opening

October 21, 2020

As of October 21, 2020, the Scott Seaman Sports Rink entered into the second phase of their reopening plan. This includes the return of the walking track Monday-Friday 11am-3pm with restrictions. For more information & COVID-19 guidelines, see here.  

Temporary Road Closure - Bridge Replacement on 192 Street West

October 8, 2020

192 Street (Range Road 3-0) between Hwy 549 and 274 Ave West will be closed Thursday, October 8, 2020 until November 20, 2020 for a bridge replacement. There will be no access at Pothole Creek Bridge, please follow detour routes. Please contact Wiaan Kruger at 403-603-6259 with any questions.

Median Closures - Hwy 2

August 28, 2020

Safety on Highway 2

Foothills County has issued a letter of recommendation to Alberta Transportation, indicating Council’s support to the closure of the median and west side of the intersection at Highway 2 and 306 Avenue East, and median closures at the intersections of Highway 2 and 338 Avenue East, and Highway 2 and 370 Avenue East.

Council has authorized the funding of the Highway 2 & 338 Avenue Interchange Functional Study by Alberta Transportation. The cost of the study is to be shared between Foothills County and the Town of Okotoks.
