Come out and vote in the Foothills County municipal election. You can still come and vote if you did not register on the permanent electors list.
Election Day
Monday, October 20 from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Voter ID
To vote in the 2025 municipal election, you must:
- Be at least 18 years old, and
- Be a Canadian citizen, and
- Be a Foothills County resident on Election Day, and
- Show proper identification (as outlined below).
Voter Identification
As required by Section 53 of the Local Authorities Election Act, in order to vote you must produce identification for inspection.
Voters will be required to have a valid ID in order to vote. There are 2 different options for showing eligible I.D. at the voting station:
- One (1) piece of government-issued identification that contains your photograph, full name, and current address; OR
- One (1) piece of identification containing your full name and your current address.
Eligible Government I.D.
At the voting station you will need to provide one (1) piece of government-issued identification that contains your photograph, full name AND your address, such as your Alberta Driver’s Licence or Identification Card.
Other Acceptable I.D.
- Bank or Credit Card Statement or personal cheque
- Correspondence issued by school, college or university
- Income Tax Assessment
- Insurance Policy Certificate or Statement
- Personal Cheque
- Property Tax Assessment or Evaluation Notice
- Pension Plan statement of benefits
- Residential Lease or Sublease or Mortgage statement
- One of the following, issued by the responsible authority of a shelter or soup kitchen: attestation of residence, letter of stay, admission form or statement of benefits
- Statement of government benefits (e.g. employment insurance, old-age security, social assistance, disability support, or child tax benefit)
- Utility Bill (electric, gas, water, cable, telephone, Internet)
- Vehicle Ownership or Registration Certificate
