Foothills County recently retained WATT Consulting Group to undertake a functional study for Dunbow Road. The purpose of the study was to inform a future access management strategy that would ensure safe access to the Heritage Pointe Fire Hall and accommodate existing and anticipated development in the area.
Now that the study has been completed, the County has begun an engagement process with area landowners to present the results of the study, gather feedback on how existing access to and from Dunbow Road is working and discuss potential future intersection improvements.
We created a survey for residents which can be found on our website along with background information on a page dedicated to this project. The project page can be accessed from the Infrastructure Projects page: https://www.foothillscountyab.ca/services/roads-infrastructure/county-infrastructure-projects. Response to the survey so far has been good and lots of different perspectives have been shared.
To further engage with area residents, we will be holding a public open house on October 18, 2022 from 4-8 pm at the Heritage Pointe Golf Course Clubhouse. This is a come-and-go event. There will NOT be a scheduled presentation. County staff and technical consultants will be in attendance to answer questions and gather feedback. No pre-registration is required.
If you do not feel comfortable attending an in-person event and would like the option to attend a virtual meeting, please contact us by email at: Infrastructure@FoothillsCountyAB.ca.
If there is demand, we will organize a virtual event or other alternative.
