WE ARE REVIEWING SECONDARY SUITES POLICIES IN FOOTHILLS COUNTY
Planning Staff is initiating a review of Secondary Suites policies in Foothills County.
April 17, 2019, Council adopted Bylaw 8/2019 amending the Land Use Bylaw to allow Secondary Suites on parcels zoned Agricultural District, Agricultural Business District, and Country Residential District located outside of Hamlet boundaries. This was considered as Phase I of the Secondary Suites project in the County. Allowing Secondary Suites in Hamlets was to be considered in the future. Planning staff will be looking for feedback from the County residents on what is working and what could be improved upon for Secondary Suites and will be asking if there is any desire for Secondary Suites in Hamlets at this time.
Below is the proposed process and timeline for our review on Secondary Suites.
We are currently conducting the Preliminary Survey to determine if there is a desire for Secondary Suites in Hamlets.
