Foothills County is constructing a new roundabout at the intersection of Dunbow Road, 2nd Street East, and Pine Creek Road to improve traffic flow, safety, and emergency vehicle access. The project will replace the existing stop‑controlled intersection with a single‑lane, five‑leg roundabout.
The project was approved by Foothills County Council on February 4, 2026.
The project was delivered through a competitive tender process. The tender closed on January 22, 2026, and the construction contract was awarded to AECON Transportation West Ltd.
Construction is anticipated during the 2026 construction season, with work expected to occur between mid‑May and mid‑October, weather and site conditions permitting. Traffic management measures and detours will be in place during construction, and emergency access will be maintained at all times.
