Safety on Highway 2 - Median Closures
Foothills County has issued a letter of recommendation to Alberta Transportation, indicating Council’s support to the closure of the median and west side of the intersection at Highway 2 and 306 Avenue East, and median closures at the intersections of Highway 2 and 338 Avenue East, and Highway 2 and 370 Avenue East.
Council has authorized the funding of the Highway 2 & 338 Avenue Interchange Functional Study by Alberta Transportation. The cost of the study is to be shared between Foothills County and the Town of Okotoks.

Dust Control
Spot Treatment Program
- The Dust Control Spot Treatment Program (dust suppressant for rural residents) is scheduled to start in early May and be complete by late fall, where required.

Surfaced Roads
- Major road repairs on the County Maintainable Road Oil (MRO) surfaces are scheduled to start mid-spring and be complete by late fall
- Chip seal program is subject to funding and Council approval, historically the County contracts out 30 kilometer per year

- The Culvert Replacement and Drainage Program is scheduled to start mid-spring. This program is priority based and runs into late fall.
