In late 2010 and early 2011 respectively, Foothills Council approved the Screening Standards and the Highway 2A Industrial ASP Design Guidelines in order to address concerns regarding the impact of commercial and industrial development on the visual character of the municipality. The Screening Standards apply to commercial or industrial development throughout the municipality, while the Design Guidelines apply only to development in the Highway 2A Industrial corridor.
Foothills County Council has recently directed administration to undertake a review of these documents in order to clarify, simplify and to make amendments that reflect the implementation of these documents.
Administration reviewed the documents with the understanding that within the Highway 2A Corridor, they would be used together. The proposed revised documents as well as the current versions can be viewed by clicking below:
