Foothills County has lifted the fire restriction inside the County in light of the recent weather (snow) and the future weather forecasts. At the time there are no restrictions in the County.
We will keep an eye on the weather and the potential for risk(s) in the County, and we will update, as necessary. As long as all permits are in compliance with the relevant rules and regulations, which are available on the County website, fire permits will continue to be given for all fires that call for permits. Additionally, residents will be reminded that acquiring a fire permit is always required for Class 1 & 2 fires, free of charge, and that they can apply for these burn permits on the county website. Residents are also reminded that the County may impose a fire ban, fire restriction, or advisory at any time and burn permits may be revoked with little to no notice if the conditions warrant it.
- Fires that require a permit, Class 1 and Class 2. (Class 1 is for small burns, less than 10 x 10 X 5, Class 2 is for large burns, any area that is 10’ X 10’ X 5’ or larger).
If a Fire Ban or Restriction is imposed, citizens must immediately and fully extinguish their open fire, all existing permits will become void and no new permits will be issued.
